Mangochi Nkungulu Forum for Development (MANFOD) says it will take a leading role in sensitising people within Mangochi Nkungulu Constituency on measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the area. Speaking during an Executive Committee meeting, Chairperson for the group Brother Haji Dyson Bwanali urged members to follow measures as per advise by the Ministry of Health. He said social distancing, use of masks and washing of hands be maintained to curb the spread of COVID-19. He also urged members to report to relevant authorities (health personel, police, chiefs) whenever the suspect that they have friends who have just arrived from abroad. He then asked well wishers and donors to fund their campaign which wants to acquire and distribute face masks, pails, hand sanitizers and soap to vulnerable groups namely the aged and children. MANFOD was established early 2019 with an aim of providing checks and balances to the constituency activities and projects. Anyone who hails from rhe area of Senior Chief Chimwala is an automatic member and can join the group by contacting the group's Chief of Communication on 0992801001. The sensitisation will commense end July. According to information which this publication has seen, Chimwala is among the hotspot areas with COVID-19. T/A Mponda (Boma area) is topping the list with Chimwala coming second.
